The Weekend

I was back in NJ at my parents' house helping them clean out a fews things I still had in the house, actually an entire closet full of old photos, momentos, my wedding dress, outdated clothes that are making a comeback.  We're going to try to sell a lot of things in a yard sale in a few weeks but I kept a few things that I can't let go of.  My Cabbage Patch doll (straight from the 80's!), my flute, a 1977 American Tourister suitcase hiding in the back of the closet, among others.  Oh, and I had to throw in a photo of Wawa.  You know you're a Jersey girl at heart if you still love your Wawa.  (I'm a little slow to the Instagram party and am only now starting to use it.  One day...)

Red Envelopes for New Year

Last year, Michael and I were in London for Chinese New Year.  Although we weren't physically at the annual New Year dinner with my relatives, my mom still gave the younger cousins red envelopes on my behalf.  This year I'm really excited because we actually get to hand them out ourselves.  I'm the oldest of the second group of my cousins and it'll be a surreal "grown up" experience to be handing them out to the youngins.  I hope they still let us sit at the kids table.  (I didn't get fancy ones though like those I took a picture of in a bin in Chinatown.  I totally cheaped out and bought the ones that were half the size and $1 a package!)

does anyone remember what the old limelight looked like? you know, the limelight that used to be a church and was turned into a club? i remember going there for some fun times. i passed by the other day and it looks completely different! i know the drug-ridden club has been closed for years, but the new limelight marketplace is crazy. it's completely renovated with modern and luxurious decor and the stalls that make up the market are high-end, boutique-quality places.
