i had date night with my baby sister last night and went to see eat pray love. the book was better, but it was still a really good movie. i love julia roberts and javier bardem as the characters. javier was completely sexy and lovable as the brazilian felipe. we were inspired by all the italian pasta in the movie so we headed to totonno's for pasta. i know they're famous for their pizza but we couldn't resist the pasta. linguine with vodka sauce and meatball parm. i wish i had more leftovers for lunch tomorrow!
i have to read the book again and i realize that i need to find my balance. lately i've been feeling all over the place. i need to focus. i need to take better care of myself and eat healthier. i need to channel my energy in the right direction and i need to start with a plan. i'll let you know how it goes...

Who Ya Gonna Call?
Pin It now!
june and i took advantage of the (free) movie series on the intrepid tonight and watched ghostbusters on the deck of the ship on what turned out to be a gorgeous summer night. this year, we were smart and brought lawn chairs so we wouldn't have to sit on the hard deck for two hours. we brought drinks and lots of food and snacked the whole move. oh, and june had never watched the movie before! this was the pefect way catch up on an old movie classic though. there were even two guys dressed up in full ghostbuster suits.
there are a few more movies this summer. i still haven't seen the first iron man, so i'm penciling in the movie for 8/27

Tim Burton...and Stories about your Parents
Pin It now!
i love having random blog post titles. i feel like it'll draw you in and make you read my blog, and i'll try anything to do that.
anyway, i went to see tim burton's alice in wonderland today with susan. the movie was great. it's a bit different than the traditional story. surprisingly in burton's version, there's a love story. don't worry i won't give anything away.
tonight on tv, big fish is also on. i forget how much i love this story. i cried like a baby though. the movie made me realize that i want to make sure i know all the stories of my parents' lives. i'm really close to them, but i think i know very little about how they grew up. at least i wasn't paying too much attention when they were telling my brother and sister and i while we were growing up. the movie has inspired me to write it all down. i want to get it all down before it's too late (oh i know, that sounds terribly sad.) i'm sad too because i won't ever meet hubby's parents to hear their stories. i'm going to try to dig them out from him, his sisters and his aunts. he won't appreciate it now, but i hope he will when we have kids.

Love Actually
Pin It now!
love actually will be on tv in a few minutes!! i've watched it a dozen times, but now that i'm actually IN london, i'm so excited. yes, i'm a sucker for romances. favorite scene - when mr. darcy, i mean colin firth proposes to aurelia (lucia moniz). i also love the beginning when hugh grants talks about the arrivals gate at heathrow and how it's filled with love no matter how gloomy and hateful the world may seem. total randomess...i'm a hopeless romantic and sometimes wish my life were a romantic comedy. i was lucky enough to indulge in this hopelessness when i picked up hubby at the airport...the arrivals gate at heathrow. and i was totally in love.
